The Realistic NASCAR Event's relatively new race procedures were put to their first big test today with the Mock Realistic NASCAR Event on Realistic NASCAR Server. Racing was set to begin at 2pm. American East Coast time with qualifying, and the first green flag was dropped at a quarter 'til 3.

It was not long before the racing action began with the first lap featuring a lead change, and the second seeing the day's first yellow flag when #46 KPD tried to shut the door on a pass by Alpha Racing's xyx on the tri-oval and sending him self spinning out of control into the pit road wall and then ricocheting back out in front of xyx's path. Xyx swerved just in the nick of time and avoided giving either of them major damage, but none-the-less the first yellow flag was placed over the field. Xyx admitted that he probably should have lifted that early in the race and expressed this while the field lined back up, but KPD was ominously silent as his slightly battered race car lined-up behind him.

On the lap 4 restart that first race Xyx's Alpha Racing Team mate #25 Mirio was by-passed by the MTDZX #11 P.Roben, as the #25 Alpha Racing entry and the he made contact in turn 3 allowing the hard charging #21 H.Peura to hook up with his teammate's draft and allowed Team MTDZX to break away from the pack and decide the race between themselves. Race 1 would be won by the #11 after his teammate lost contact with him coming to the white flag.

Race 2 began with #86 Nuno who was running in the 4th place cut down in front of #6 xyx causing him to take a hard lick on the inside retaining wall that nearly left him upside-down. Once the race was restarted MTDZX once again showed their dominance by taking the top 2 places.

With race 3 came a change of venue as well as car. Instead of racing KY1 with FXR's, we took on XFG's and tackled a 1/2 Kilometer Autocross oval layout. After a 15 minutes practice session the action resumed with the starting line-up determined by active point standings. MTDZX once again proved strong, but Alpha Racing's xyx worked his way slowly through the pack and found himself running just behind the 2 leaders when they got tangled up in the third turn. The #11 car continued on to win regardless, but the #6 was able to sneak in a second place finish from the #21.

Race 4 saw the first caution on the new setting as the race started. Alpha Racing’s xyx found himself on the outside of the two MTDZX entries, and when one went higher than expected, and xyx pulled down lower than what he needed to for 3 wide, the wreck was on. 4 of the 6 cars in the race were involved in the mess. All were able to continue, but xyx was delegated to the rear as he had spun around.

MTDZX’s P.Roben cemented his event Driver’s Championship with another win in this race. The team championship however was far from decided with the double the points FXR race at KY1 coming up next and last.

The pits would prove to be a treacherous place for the MTDZX team as they were held up in pit lane after having the lead at the time that they entered on lap 11 of 20. With the entire race happening under the green flag, MTDZX never had time to catch up and finished at the back of the pack allowing Alpha racing’s Mirio to win and xyx to finish second a few seconds back.

In the end it was not enough to beat out the dominate performance set fourth by MTDZX and their four wins which was the only number that allowed MTDZX to take the Team Championship as both teams had a final point count of 1235.
